My son has been a fan of F1 Racing for as long as I can remember. He fancies Lando Norris in particular since Norris is a young racer. When he turned 10 years old, we wanted for him to experience karting. The closest race circuit from us is City Kart in Pampanga, which is 4 hours away from our home – he was devastated that he was not able to try it since it is too far. We then saw that Enchanted Kingdom offers karting as well. So we scheduled a day at Enchanted Kingdom and lined up for the karting experience, but my son was again devastated since they only allow 12 years old and above to ride the karts.
So imagine my son’s delight when we learned that there would be a new indoor race karting that would open in May 2022 at SM North Edsa – EKart Raceway. He was persuading us to go, but SM North Edsa is more than 2 hours away from home. We compromised and decided to visit EKart Raceway if there would be errands on the way. Lucky for him because during Ekart Raceways’ first opening week, we did have an errand to do near SM North Edsa. Such a fortunate kid! HAHAHA
EKart Raceway is on the 3rd floor of SM North Edsa. It is an indoor race karting that can fulfill the dreams of kids and kids-at-heart who loves racing. Race prices are as follows:
During our visit, they only have Junior Kart Packages. Fee is Php650 for 6minutes race, which includes use of race kart and helmet (with balaclava). Racers are also required to wear closed shoes during the race proper. Junior Kart Packages allows kids/adults with weight below 60kgs and height below 5’9″ to ride the e-karts.
We signed a waiver for my son to do one race. After payment, he was ushered to the safety orientation guide.
Race was quick. The first lap (which is already part of the 6 minutes) is on trial mode where racers are only allowed slow acceleration. After the first lap, the race karts were adjusted to full speed and racers can now race around the raceway as fast as the ekart can bring them. My son was able to finish five laps! My son was so happy, he was begging to have another go, to which I replied, “no more money na si Mama…” hahaha
Spectators, are allowed to sit on the bleachers to watch and take photos/videos of the racers.
If you are looking for a raceway to treat your little ones just within the metro, EKart Raceway is a place you can try. My son had a very memorable experience ending his day with “My dream came true!”
